Syllabus

This hands-on training explores the fundamental principles of the future NIST standards beyond the default choices ML-KEM and ML-DSA. We cover the SLH-DSA and FN-DSA signature schemes, together with the HQC public-key encryption algorithm. The training also discusses the underlying security concepts, implementation and deployment best practices and comparisons with ML-KEM and ML-DSA. The training includes guided practical sessions to understand how these schemes work, their role, and their benefits.

At the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the key principles behind SLH-DSA, FN-DSA and HQC.
  2. Use these schemes in appropriate contexts.
  3. Identify critical implementation steps that may introduce vulnerabilities.

This training can follow the introductory training on post-quantum cryptography as well as the training on hands-on with ML-KEM and ML-DSA.

The training is provided in French by default but sessions can also be delivered in English.
